Welding fumes aspiration and filtration system

Welding fumes aspiration and filtration system

  • Type of system: Welding fumes extraction and filtration
  • Air flow: 16.500 mc/h
  • Filter Type: Horizontal cartridges filter AIRCOMPACT-O
  • Fan: PRH 560/2 – 30 kW

General description

For the extraction and the collection of welding fumes that develop during processing a system was installed as follows: some suction hoses of suitable diameter with a suction arm have been placed near the manufacturing area in order to remove the pollutant directly from where it originates. For each work station there is a coupling with a shutter attack where an additional suction arm placed on the Mobile Tower trolley can be attached. The suction hoses are connected to a main pipeline which conveys the pollutant to a AIRCOMPACT-O horizontal cartridge filter: the dusty air is drawn in the filter unit from the top, giving the pollutant a descent strength so that coarser particles precipitate directly into the collection bin. The dust contained in the air extracted, due to the effect of air flow, will fall into the collection bin and subsequently will be conveyed to the filter cartridges passing from outside to inside thus depositing the impurities and returning the purified air. During the work, the filter is kept perfectly efficient, through a counter-current cyclic cleaning system.

A jet of compressed air, cyclically programmed by an electronic device, stored in special mini-tanks, one for each cartridge, is suddenly injected inside the cartridges, creating a violent countercurrent shaking wave, able to disconnect and precipitate the particles deposited on the outside of the cartridge. A centrifugal high efficiency electric fan will create the necessary depression and will channel the filtered gaseous atmosphere through an appropriately sized discharge stack.

Train SRT dust aspiration system

An aspiration system for dust generated by rails grinding has been realized; this processing is carried out though a sander machine which is placed on the train wagon.
