Dust aspiration and filtration system for carbon fiber

For the extraction and the removal of carbon fiber powders that develop from 4 machine tools a system was built as follows: some suction stacks of suitable diameter are positioned behind the machines in order to remove the pollutant directly from where it originates from. The flow is shared among the 4 machines according to their volume.
The suction stacks are then connected to a main pipeline which conveys the pollutant air to a AIRCOMPACT cartridge filter. The dusty air is drawn in, below the filter cartridges, through the inlet chamber connected to the hopper. The dust contained in the extracted air, due to the considerable decrease in speed, precipitates in the collection container and is then conveyed to the filtering cartridges passing from the outside to the inside, thus depositing impurities and returning the purified air. During the passage, the filter is kept perfectly efficient, through a counter-current cyclic cleaning system.
A jet of compressed air, accumulated in a special tank, is injected inside the cartridge, creating a violent countercurrent shaking wave, able to detach and to precipitate the particles deposited on the outside of the cartridges. A high performance centrifugal fan creates the necessary depression and conveys the filtered gas into the air through chimney.
For the aspiration and filtration of VOC deriving from a paint machine, the following system has been realized.
Extraction and air treatment system from storage and treatment areas of biological sludge, flow rates up to 70,000 m³ / h.
For smoke collection of three coal-fired boilers 3 AIRCOM sleeves filters were installed with demister, with a total treated air flow of 185,500 m3 / h.
